When considering an extension, there are two questions we get asked ALL the time. The first is, “why do we have to get planning permission?” and “can we qualify for permitted development?” When considering an extension, the only two questions we want you to consider is, “what am I using it for?” and “what can I afford on the build?”
The other two questions? Let’s save them for our upcoming blogs! But hand on heart, during our first meet and great, our lead designer will tell you if you’re likely to get planning permission and if you could qualify for permitted development. But, as a rule, you can go out 6m with a height of 3m under permitted development, with room for more if certain qualifying parameters are met.
At QN Design Architectural Services, we are inspired by bright open spaces and encourage clients to explore bi-folding doors or full height glass panels, roof lights or roof lanterns, and vaulted ceilings where possible. Extensions don’t need to be the standard fare anymore; we can be as creative as you’ll allow us and still in keeping with your existing home.
So, get in touch and let us create a space that allows your family to live better together.
